Pre-Treatment

Overview

Without proper removal of contaminants even the most efficient finishing techniques, such as powder coating and wet spray painting may fail to offer you the desired results. At Conqueror Industries, we are able to deliver excellent results to our clients every single time because of our robust pre-treatment methodologies that clean and prepare the surface for the coating process.

With a capacity to treat components up to 8 metres long, we make sure that the pre-treatment process results in metal that is ready to be spray painted.

What is Pre-Treatment?

The process of preparing a surface for the application of dry or wet paint is known as pre-treatment. It involves exposing the surface to a series of chemical baths and techniques designed to remove all kinds of contaminants from the surface. Some of the techniques used in this process include phosphating, abrasive blasting, sanding and drying.

At Conqueror Industries, the pre-treatment process involves:

  • Degreasing using volatile or aqueous solvents to remove oils, paint and other contaminants.
  • Blasting to remove rust, scale and other surface imperfections.
  • Chemical pre-treatment using the most suitable substrate, such as zinc phosphate, zirconium, zinc chromate, etc.
